Community to share their views on the draft Regional Public Transport Plan

Formal consultation for Te Mahere Waka Tūmatanui o te Rohe o Te Moana a Toi, the Bay of Plenty Regional Public Transport Plan opened on 4 July. More than 1100 people visited the online project page during July. Copies of the draft Plan were distributed to 21 locations including libraries and councils from Waihi Beach to Ōpōtiki to Murupara. Community drop in sessions were held in Rotorua and Tauranga to support people in preparing their submission

Submissions closed on Friday 29 July. 64 Submissions have been received for the Regional Public Transport Plan including 39 online, 22 by email and 3 by mail. 23 submitters have requested to present to the Hearings Panel. Hearing times have been set to accommodate the availability of our submitters. People will be presenting to the Hearings panel both online and in person.

  • Wednesday 17 August at BOPRC, 1 Elizabeth Street, Tauranga from 1:30pm
  • Friday 19 August at the Atrium, Ōtūmoetai Road, Tauranga from 11am


Hearings are open to the public to attend in person, to view as a live stream or as recording afterwards. Agendas for each hearing will be made available online prior to each session.
