We would like to thank everyone who took the time to review our Draft Youth Engagement Plan and fill in our online survey.

This draft plan was created alongside rangatahi from our Youth Involvement Project (YIP) Group to set the direction for how the Bay of Plentry Regional Council can better engage with young people over the next 3-5 years.

Feedback from young people in the Bay of Plenty region was broadly supportive of the goals and actions in the Draft Youth Engagement Plan.

Key actions that had strong support from young people were:

• Young people are supported to be involved in local environmental activities and care groups.
• Trialling youth ambassador roles to support young people wanting to be involved in council projects, meetings, and events.
• Provide more opportunities for young people to engage with Regional Council and have their say on projects important to them.
